The way both major parties are acting these days R&D shouldn’t stand for Republican and Democrat – it should stand for ‘ridiculous and dumb!’ Or maybe ‘research and development,’ as both could do a better job of working harder to be in touch with the needs and concerns of citizens. I mean really, GET-IT-TOGETHER!

We have each major party so busy ratcheting up the hate and vitriol against the other that nothing is getting done to move the country forward. And no, executive orders and rolling back legislation already on the books, is not the same thing as creating new legislation that can help and benefit average Americans – increase wages, create jobs, provide affordable healthcare.

Take healthcare as an example. I think we can all agree the Affordable Care Act (ACA) needs work. But, way to go Senate majority. Keep pushing to force through a healthcare bill without any transparency into the process. Freeze out women from the process. Freeze out colleagues from the debate. Cause chaos in the health insurance marketplace. Scare the hell out of people who fear they may lose coverage for their preexisting conditions. Don’t do squat to alleviate concerns of rising costs. Yeah, this is logic. This is really helping the country. This is really helping to minimize partisan gridlock and extremism. This is really helping create the compromise and unity needed to alleviate citizens fears and concerns and calm nerves.

And this is just one example. What about gun safety – every American should have the right to feel safe from situations like those which recently occurred. Public safety is NOT a partisan issue, though it seems to play out that way. The rekindling of the gun safety debate  – well that should be another fun one (sarcasm intended.)

Elected officials need to GET-IT-TOGETHER! #UnifyUsNow. Transparency. Compromise. Not rhetoric. Not gridlock and partisan extremism. Solutions to problems facing real Americans.
